We are studying visual communications at Bauhaus University Weimar. We had the idea to publish the first spontaneous Magazine worldwide.
What
is a magazine? What is the future of magazines? We were thinking
about these questions. You always hear that magazines and books are
dead and that new media eliminates them. We think that magazines can
still exist next to the new technologies like tablets, e-books or
others. Our project is dealing with these questions and could give a
new impulse. We
want to show that the production of a magazine can also be efficient,
fast and spontaneous in content as well as in design. Instead
of fighting against new media and new technology we will use them to
create a different kind of magazine. Regarding to the spirit of our
time we also decided to develop an interactive community around the
magazine.
People
that are interested have to sign in by sending an email to hiccupmagazine@gmail.com containing
their name and mobile number. Participants will get a confirmation
email with details. Just when they are least expecting it they will
receive an SMS by HICCUP MAGAZINE with the theme of the upcoming
issue. After that they have to take a spontaneous photo with their
mobile phone, interpreting the theme in whatever way they choose.
They have six hour to take the photo and send it back to HICCUP
MAGAZINE. By sending the photo participants are eligible to win a
special prize. After we collected all the photos we try to create a
magazine as spontaneously as possible.
Your snapshots brings to life the Magazine!
